Today was day 1 on TikTok. This is terrifying.

Is it because I'm a Gen-Xer? I have no idea. I've never been uncomfortable in front of a camera or an audience. I had a YouTube channel for my homestead in Virginia called Hickory Hill Homestead (the green icon one), but this is a totally different ballgame. By the way, you can find me my searching @still_i_heal_proj

I told my kids about this today. My daughter Julia sent me tips on what to do differently. My oldest son Andrew told me he would never be on TikTok... :D. If I'm honest I really didn't even know what Julia was talking about initially. I'm a total TikTok virgin. I've never even BEEN on TikTok let alone creating an account and then creating content, although my friend and colleague Peg told me to create an account and post a long time ago. Sorry I waited so long, Peg!

I'm learning about all of this through a guy named Taylor Conroy. You know, I do wonder if people have an easier time becoming viral when they're traditionally beautiful people (like Taylor). I wonder if there's research on that or not. If not, there should be. The results would be interesting.

I have so much to share and so much to say and I have a really big goal. Want to know what it is? I want to change the world, one trauma survivor at a time. That's it. Ideally I want to change the world to prevent children from becoming trauma survivors too through awareness and education about emotional abuse. All in good time, Angela, all in good time.

So, according to the program I am in, TikTok is THE platform to share your platform. I'm scared about this, but also super excited about possibilities. I'm so thankful for my first follower and my very first comment from someone called @Campbell's Funhouse #NLCN. She really helped me feel more confident since it popped up so soon after my first 3 videos today. If you're reading this, thank you again!

If anyone has tips for me, I'm all ears. I need to learn as much as I can because I want to make a difference for as many people as I can. I'm done being silent about my own trauma and done with the world ignoring those of us with bruises and scars that no one can ever see. Thank you for your support.
