What is the Still I Heal Project?
The Still I Heal Project is a sanctuary born from lived experience—created by a survivor of emotional abuse who has transformed pain into purpose. Like a warrior navigating the dense forest of trauma, this project stands as a beacon of hope and resilience. My mission is to offer compassionate support, powerful advocacy, and accessible resources to individuals of all ages and backgrounds who are healing from emotional abuse. Whether you're just beginning your journey or well along the path, you are not alone.
Healing is possible, and I am here to walk beside you.
I believe in the power of healing and the resilience of the human spirit. Through the Still I Heal Project, I am dedicated to empowering survivors of emotional abuse to embrace their journey, define their future, and heal their minds and bodies.

My Mission
My name is Dr. Angela Solic. I have been an educator for 28 years and through the Still I Heal Project, my mission is to create a safe and nurturing space for individuals healing from emotional abuse. I provide support, advocacy, and resources to help survivors reclaim their strength and rebuild their lives.
My Vision
My vision is a world where survivors of emotional abuse are empowered to heal, thrive, and lead fulfilling lives, free from fear and pain.

I would like to see greater attention and advocacy toward this form of abuse that leaves scars that no one can see, but creates long-lasting, devastating emotional and mental injury to the victims.

My Story
Over 25 years ago I started writing my own story about surviving severe family dysfunction that included parental substance abuse (alcohol and drugs), domestic violence, sexual abuse, and chronic emotional abuse. It was hard to retell all of those stories, and my life was difficult at every turn and so the book was put 'on the shelf' for another day. I revisited it periodically, but never had the motivation to do anything with it.... that is, until recently.

I disconnected from my abuser back in 2010 and since then went about the difficult journey of finding healing and doing so has been challenging because emotional abuse sticks with you, long after the person is out of your life. It is a complex journey because it involves every part of who you are: your thoughts, your mind, your heart, your body, and your soul. Nothing is left unscathed after chronic emotional abuse.

Once I felt like I found my way, I decided to resurrect my memoir and give it a much needed revision. I realized that the endgame for me is to help others who are or have been victims of childhood emotional abuse and provide them with support and resources.

What I really want to see happen is the following:
- laws change to protect those who are affected by this 'invisible' form of abuse
- laws change to punish emotional abusers and also provide them with therapy and their own healing
- increased awareness for mental health professionals so more children do not suffer like I did... ignored, dismissed
- increased awareness for those who work with children to notice the signs of emotional abuse and have a pathway of reporting
- education of parents to avoid emotionally abusive behavior toward their children

I am working on finding a literary agent who wants to support my memoir, but until that time, I am going to do what I can to help who I can, how I can.

I hope what I offer helps you.
